WELCOME TO CHERRYVALE, KS
Where Small-Town Heart Meets Big Possibility

Nestled in the rolling landscapes of Southeast Kansas, Cherryvale is a vibrant community shaped by history, hard work, and hometown pride.
Cherryvale’s story begins on land once inhabited by the Osage Indians, later settled by Civil War veterans seeking new opportunity on the Kansas frontier. The first settler, Mr. Abe Eaton, purchased property here before selling it to what became the Leavenworth, Lawrence & Galveston Railway. The town site was officially platted in 1871, marking the beginning of the Cherryvale we know today.
While deeply connected to its historic roots, Cherryvale has grown into a community filled with welcoming neighborhoods, locally owned businesses, active schools, and year-round community events. It’s a place where people greet you by name, where tradition still matters, and where new ideas and local pride continue to shape the future.
As you explore our Chamber website, we invite you to discover all the ways Cherryvale blends its rich heritage with the warm, authentic charm of small-town Kansas.
